What does a buyer check before inviting you to tender?

In short

Before a shortlist goes out, procurement teams and main contractors search for firms that do the work, ask AI tools for names, and check each firm's website for accreditations, policies, relevant projects and who runs the business. If they can't find it, it can't count in your favour, however good your bid is.

What the audit checks

Two halves, each scored out of 100 from a fixed checklist, so every point traces back to a search, an AI answer or a page on your website.

  • How discoverable you are

How easily a buyer finds you

    • Live Google searches for your disciplines, in your home town and UK-wide
    • What a buyer sees when they search your name
    • Ten buyer questions asked in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude and Google's AI
    • Whether AI tools describe your firm correctly, and who they name instead
    • Your online footprint: how many searches you rank for
  • How tender-ready your website is

What a procurement team finds when it checks you

    • Accreditations: ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001, CHAS, Constructionline and sector schemes
    • Policies: health and safety, environmental, carbon reduction plan, social value, modern slavery
    • Project evidence: case studies with the client, value, outcome and social value
    • Who you are: sectors, regions, leadership, scale and frameworks
    • How easy you make it: a route for tenders, and a capability statement

Before you ask for it

Is the tender-ready audit really free?

Yes. The audit and the optional review call cost nothing, and we don't ask for card details. We do it because a clear picture of what buyers see is the most useful thing we can hand a contractor, and because some of the firms we hand it to go on to work with us.

Who is it for?

UK civils and construction firms that win work through tenders, frameworks and main contractors' supply chains: groundworks, civils, infrastructure, rail, highways, utilities, building and specialist contractors. If you're a trades business working for homeowners, you'll get our free website audit instead, which is built for that.

How is the score worked out?

From a fixed checklist, by software, so the same website always gets the same score. Discoverable covers Google, AI tools and your online footprint. Tender ready covers accreditations, project evidence, policies and statements, who you are, and how easy you make it for a buyer. Every point comes from a live search, an AI answer or a page on your website.

Do you check whether our certificates are valid?

No. We check what your website shows, the way a procurement team does before it ever opens your prequalification. You may hold accreditations your website doesn't mention. If a buyer can't see them, though, they can't count them, and that is usually the quickest thing to fix.

What do you need from us?

Just your website address and a company email. Everything comes from what anyone can see from the outside: your website, live Google searches, AI answers and Companies House. We never need passwords, portal logins or your tender documents.

Will I be sold to?

Not on the call. It's there to walk you through your scores and the fixes, and the plan is yours whether you work with us or not. If you want us to do the work, ask, and we'll tell you what that costs.
