Videtta Heating are a plumbing and heating business led by Jordan, serving their local area with heating, plumbing and air conditioning services.

When we started working together in February 2020, the business was trading as JV Heating and generating around £223k per year.

Jordan had the ambition to build something stronger.

He did not just want more leads. He wanted a proper brand, a stronger local reputation, better systems and a marketing engine that could help the business grow beyond relying on word of mouth.

Over six and a half years, we have supported Videtta across strategy, brand, local SEO, reviews, video, CRM, email marketing and customer finance.

Today, the business has grown to over £1.3m annual revenue.

The problem

Jordan had the ambition, but the brand and marketing needed to catch up

When Jordan came to us, the business was still operating under the generic name JV Heating.

It was a capable local heating business, but it did not yet have the brand, positioning or marketing system needed to support the scale of business Jordan wanted to build.

Like many ambitious trades businesses, growth could not rely only on recommendations, repeat customers and ad hoc enquiries.

The business needed to become more visible, more trusted and easier to choose locally.

That meant building a brand people remembered, a website that ranked, a review profile that created trust, and systems that helped the team handle more leads as the business grew.

The shift

From local heating business to stronger local brand

The first step was strategic. Before chasing more marketing activity, we helped Jordan think through how the business needed to show up in the market. That included:
The aim was not just to generate enquiries. The aim was to build the kind of local brand that could support a bigger, more valuable business.

“The We Are SMC team have been working with Videtta Heating & Plumbing since February 2020 helping with our overall strategy and marketing.

In that time their skills and expertise in marketing have seen us massively increase our leads, and as a result has increased our revenue, enabling us to take on more engineers.”

Jordan, Videtta Heating

What we built in partnership with Videtta Heating

1. A stronger brand

We helped Jordan move away from the generic JV Heating name and create the Videtta brand.

That gave the business a more distinctive identity and a stronger platform for growth.

For a local heating business, brand is not just a logo. It affects trust, recall, reputation and how confidently customers choose you over another installer.

2. Local trust through Which? Trusted Trader

We encouraged and supported Jordan to apply for Which? Trusted Trader status.

That accreditation helped improve local brand perception and gave customers another reason to trust the business.

In a market where customers are often comparing several local engineers, trust signals matter.

3. A local SEO strategy built around core services

The main thrust of the strategy was to dominate Videtta’s local area on Google.

We developed an SEO strategy that built localised content around Videtta’s key services, helping the website attract the right traffic from people actively searching for help.

This gave the business visibility where it mattered most: in front of local customers with real intent.

4. A review engine that built trust and improved map visibility

We put a process in place to capture reviews regularly.

That helped Videtta build more than 400 local five-star reviews on Google Business.

The reviews did two important jobs.

They improved customer trust, and they helped Videtta dominate the local map pack, bringing regular leads and website visits from Google Business.

5. Video content that shows the people behind the brand

We supported Videtta with a filming day featuring Jordan and some of his customers.

The aim was to create useful video content for the website that made the business feel more human, credible and trustworthy.

For trades businesses, video helps potential customers see who they are inviting into their home before they make contact.

The outcome

Videtta now has a marketing engine that supports growth

Since February 2020, Videtta has grown from around £223k per year to over £1.3m annual revenue.

The business now has a stronger brand, a dominant local Google presence, more than 400 local five-star reviews, and an average of 120 leads per month through paid and organic channels.

More than 50% of website traffic now comes from Google organic and LLMs including ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini.

But the bigger shift is strategic.

Videtta is no longer relying only on word of mouth or isolated campaigns. The business has a stronger local reputation, better systems, regular lead flow and marketing channels that continue to support growth.

That is what good marketing should do for an ambitious plumbing and heating business.

The model

The local growth engine model

The Videtta project followed a clear pattern:

This is not about one campaign.

It is about building the assets, reputation and systems that help a local trades business become the obvious choice in its area.

What civils founders can take from this case study

1. A generic brand will limit how far you can go

If you want to build a serious business, your brand has to feel like one.

2. Google is still one of the strongest growth channels for local trades

When customers need heating, plumbing or air conditioning services, they search locally. You need to be visible when they do.

3. Reviews are not a nice extra

They are a sales asset, a trust signal and a local search advantage.

4. Video helps customers trust you before they call

People buy from people. Video makes the business feel more credible and familiar.

5. CRM matters when lead volume grows

More leads are only useful if the business can respond, track, follow up and convert them properly.

6. Your existing customers can help grow new services

Email marketing gives you a route to promote services like air conditioning to people who already know and trust the business.
